Something different (2)

In my last post, I said I don’t ‘do’ poetry, but when I woke up to fighter planes roaring overhead, a passing muse was so alarmed that she dropped some jumbled words into my brain. That’s my explanation anyway. The result is here.

Great - we'd all like a muse like that, Linda.

Fighter planes going into action might not be good, but your poem is.

That was lovely, Linda - what a final stanza! So poignant!

Thanks All,
This was very different for me, so I hesitated (a lot!) before making it public.
I'm usually able to look on the bright side, and I like to add a touch of humour to my writing if possible, but I can't be optimistic about what's going on at the moment.

That has a sad side to it that people who remember the war would identify with. I'd like to say we're lucky not to know war, but it's getting quite dicey now isn't it. Lovely poem, Linda.

Excellent poem. Carry on, if the muse kisses you in unedited places.
Your beautiful notebook would be a fitting receptacle.

That's made my day, Friko!
You know a lot more about poetry than I do, so your encouragement is very much appreciated.
